TELEPHONE SET FOR AUDITORILY HANDICAPPED PERSON

PURPOSE:To transmit communication contents to an auditorily handicapped person by a sender by using a normal dial telephone set by providing an acoustic coupling device which converts a received signal into an electric signal, a speech recognizing and translating device which converts the electric speech signal into a character signal, and a character display device which displays the character signal as visible characters. CONSTITUTION:The acoustic coupling device 21 is mounted on a receiver part 13 to receive an acoustic wave signal sent by the receiver part 13 or leakage magnetic flux and outputs it as the electric speech signal. The coupling device 21 may be mounted on a proper flank in addition to an ear facing surface 14 and is in close contact, but its accachment and detachment are free. The speech recognizing and translating device 22 receives the electric speech signal sent by the acoustic coupling device 21, and recognizes and translates its contents to output the character signal. The character display device 23 receives the character signal from the speech recognizing and translating device 22 and displays the received contents as characters successively, so that the communication sentence from a transmission side is visualized.
