Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:The titled promoting agent containing multhiomycin as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective growth-promoting agent for pig is produced by using multhiomycin (stable to the heat-treatment at 100 deg.C for 5min in the form of aqueous solution at 2-5 pH; slightly acidic yellow acicular crystal; no optical activity is observed as 1% solution) as an active compound. Multhiomycin is separated from the culture product obtained by culturing a multhiomycin- producing strain belonging to Streptomyces genus [e.g. Streptomyces sp 8446 CC1 (FERM-P 3284)] in a medium containing a proper nutrient source by deep culture, etc. It is administered orally to pig by adding to the feed for pig or mixing to drinking water in the form of wettable powder. The amount of the agent is preverably 0.5-100g per 1ton of the feed or 0.5-50mg per 1l of the drinking water.
