Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:The titled resin having high strength, high heat resistance, high hardness, low double refractive index and low dispersion, obtained by copolymerizing specified two (meth)acrylate compounds with each other. CONSTITUTION:95-40wt% (meth)acrylate compound of formula I (wherein R is H or CH3) is copolymerized with 5-60wt% (meth)acrylate compound of formula II (wherein R1 is R and R2 is a residue derived by removing the OH groups form a 2-30C dihydric alcohol) and, optionally, 10wt% or below radical-polymerizable monomer [e.g., (chloro)styrene] used as a viscosity modifier in the presence of a radical initiator (e.g., benzoyl peroxide) to obtain the titled resin having a refractive index of 1.505-1.540, a double refractive index of 1.0X10-9.0X10 and a transmittance >=90% and being useful for lenses, optical disc bases, etc.
