PREPARATION OF TRANSFER FOIL HAVING PARTIAL RULING PATTERN

PURPOSE:To prepare a transfer foil having a good design and a partial ruling pattern, by embedding a resist layer to the recessed surfaces of the ruling pattern on a film before successively laminating a release layer, a picture pattern layer and an adhesive layer. CONSTITUTION:A film 1 for hot stamping with a thickness of 25mum made of polyester is used as a base film material and recessed and protruded ruling patterns 8 are provided to the surface of the film 1 by machining. A resist layer 2 made of a thermosetting melamine resin is provided to the film material and, after curing, an acrylic resin type release layer 3 and an acrylic resin type picture pattern layer 4 are provided to the entire surface of said resist layer 2 and an acrylic resin type adhesive layer 6 is further provided thereon to obtain a transfer foil. For example, when this transfer foil is subjected to roll transfer under such a condition that the temp. of the roll is 210 deg.C, the pressure thereof is 150 kg/10cm and the speed thereof is 4 m/min, the resist layer 2 is united with the side of the film 1 and the release layer 3 and the lower layers thereof are transferred to the side of a substrate 7 to be transferred to complete a transfer foil having a partial ruling pattern.
