Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I and its alkali metal salt. USE:Useful as an antimicrobial agent effective to Gram-positive bacteria, Gram- negative bacteria, true fungi, etc., and a germicide for agricultural and horticul tural use, especially an agent for controlling bacterial leaf blight of rice. PREPARATION:The antibiotic substance SF-2370 of formula II is hydrolyzed under acidic or alkaline condition, preferably at 15-25 deg.C for 5-18hr under stirring. The reaction is carried out preferably by dissolving the compound of formula II in a water-miscible inert solvent (e.g. methanol).
