CONTROL SYSTEM FOR SEGMENT DISPLAY DEVICE IN TAPE DECK

PURPOSE:To display the tape running direction by lighting a fluorescent display tube so that a pair of selected segments are moved in parallel at the same speed in the direction of the axis of abscissas. CONSTITUTION:A display controller 29 consists of a control circuit 30, a RAM 31, and a display drive circuit 32 to control lighting of a fluorescent display tube 33. the fluorescent display tube 33 has a segment display device 33a where 7 segment groups (x0-x6) consisting of 13 transversely a long lighting segments (y0-y12) arranged in the direction of the axis of ordinates (Y) are arranged in the direction of the axis of abscissas (X). The RAM 31 has storage positions designated by addresses corresponding to individual lighting segments expressed with XY coordinates; and when logical '1' is written in a storage position M(xk, yl) designated with an address (xk, yl) by the control circuit 30, the lighting segment (xk, yl) corresponding to the address (xk, yl) is lit by the display drive circuit 32.
