MUFFLING ELBOW FOR AXIAL BLOWER

PURPOSE:To realize reduction of pressure loss and improvement of the effect of muffling by radially fitting, the plural number of straightening plates pasted with sound-absorbing material which straighten a whirling flow, in a muffling elbow equipped with a right-angled flow passage and sound-absorbing material on the inner dace so as to move the whirling flow. CONSTITUTION:The plural number of radial straightening plates 12 are fitted between a cylindrical outer pipe 10 and a cylindrical inner pipe 11 provided in an opening at one end of a muffling elbow 1. In this case, a sound-absorbing material 13 such as glass wool or the like is pasted on both sides of the straightening plates 12. A flow having whirling ingredients and discharged from an axial blower (unillustrated) is straightened by the straightening plates 12 provided in the muffling elbow 1 and flows into a flow passage 2. On the other hand, a noise from the axial blower is first reduced by the sound-absorbing material 13 provided on the surface of the straightening plates 12 and further reflected and absorbed by the right-angled flow passage 2 and the internal sound-absorbing material 13. As a result, since the effect of muffling is improved and the whirling flow is excluded, fluid resistance while the fluid passes through the muffling elbow 1 is lessened and the pressure loss is reduced.
