PIPING LEAKAGE DETECTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To detect leakage of a fluid in its early stage by providing a sound detector, an amplifier, a signal processor, and a transmitter for generating an alarm signal for informing leakage, when a processing result has shown an abnormality, which is attached to the same position of the respective pipings. CONSTITUTION:A nuclear reactor pressure container 8 which contains a nuclear fuel 7 and serves for supplying the vapor to a turbine generator is provided on a boiling water nuclear power plant. In order to make a primary cooling water contained therein circulate efficiently, primary cooling water circulating pumps 9 (9a, 9b) and recirculating pipings 10 (10a, 10b) are installed. Also, to the pipings 10, sound detectors 1 (1a, 1b), pre-amplifiers 2 (2a, 2b), and amplifiers 3 (3a, 3b) are installed at intervals of about 10m, so that an acoustic signal of the same piping position is detected. In such a way, when the detector 1 is installed at the same position of the pipings having the same function, for instance, a noise of the pump 9, or a noise in suction and discharge parts of the piping 10 are eliminated, and an event of leakage whose possibility of generation is considered in only one part can be detected quickly and exactly.
