PURPOSE:To allow the quick course change, course parallel shift, and stop and improve steerability by protruding a pair of right and left rudders symmetrically across a hull center line on the bow bottom in a ship provided with a propeller and a rudder at the stern. CONSTITUTION:When a ship 1 is to be shifted to the left in parallel on its course, a stern rudder 03 is rotated counter-clockwise, and bow rudders 6p, 6s are also rotated counter-clockwise. Then, the ship 1 is directly shifted in parallel toward the slant left without being turned. Next, when the ship 1 is to be quickly stopped, bow rudders 6p, 6s are rotated counter-clockwise and clockwise respectively by about 90 deg. so that rudder faces are made vertical to the bow stream 7, then the ship 1 is quickly stopped. Furthermore, bow rudders 6p, 6s can perform a turning action likewise as the stern rudder 03 to improve the turning capability. In addition, when bow rudders 6p, 6s are kept in parallel with the hull center line respectively, they serve as the turning resistance against disturbance, thus the course maintaining performance can be improved.
