MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE

PURPOSE:To improve the settling and off-track performance as well as the reliability of the titled magnetic disk device by giving plastic bending to a flexible printed board and to obtain the minimum revolving force to a head positioning mechanism system. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording disk 2 is provided to a spindle motor 1 and contains a record/read head 3. A head arm 4 holding the head 3 is provided together with a flexible arm 10. These arms swing around a pivot shaft 5 to move the head 3. This driving force is transmitted by a stepping motor 8 through a steel belt 9. The tension is applied to the belt 9 by a spring 7. A flexible printed board 6 is provided to transmit signals to the head 3. Then a case and a cover are added. Thus a magnetic recording device is formed. The head 3 is moved by the motor 8 and set at a position shown by solid lines at the most inner circumference of the disk 2 and then at a position shown by the broken lines at the most outer circumference. Then the board 6 is also changed as shown by the solid and broken lines. In other words, the board 6 is always bent.
