Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain an adsorbent having the stable performance in spite of the variation of a sludge component by forming a film of gamma-Al2O3 having the higher purity on the surface of a porous carrier contg. gamma-Al2O3 obtained by sintering the flocculated and precipitated sludge. CONSTITUTION:A porous carrier contg. Al2O3 is obtained by sintering the dried and finely pulverized sludge at about 1,000 deg.C. The porous particles having the surface coated with the high-purity gamma-Al2O3 are obtained by impregnating the commercial alumina sol into the carrier and calcining it for 400-1,000 deg.C. Thereby an adsorbent having the average adsorption performance is obtained even if the variance in the sludge component is present in each water purifying plant. Furthermore in this adsorbent, the effect is exhibited in the removal of iron ion and manganese ion together with the removal of phosphorus and an organic material.
