Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To make it possible to easily strength a tubular body in a shape similar to an original configuration with large degree of freedom so as to reduce residual strain, by slightly pulling the tubular body to the longitudinal direction while the predetermined position thereof is uniformly heated for a predetermined time in such a state that said tubular body is rotated around the center axis thereof immediately before abruptly stretching said tubular body under cooling. CONSTITUTION:A sample tube 53 is set between heaters 49-50 by upper and lower chucks 40, 41 an the heaters are turned ON while the chucks are rotated to the same direction and the predetermined areas of the tube 53 are heated by the action of parallel infrared rays 62, 63 so as to obtain uniform temp. distribution. By this method, the predetermined area of the tube 53 is selectively melted under heating and a hanging phenomenon is partially generated by thermal deformation or melting and, therefore, the tubular body is pulled gradually to absorb the above mentioned hanging. When the chuck 41 is abruptly and vertically fallen at the point of time when a stretchable state was obtained, the large diameter part 53b of the original shape is stretched in a similar shape as it is and a small diameter part 53a is formed.
