Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To shorten processing time and to improve operability with a document processor by pre-reading an input buffer to read previously subsequent (n) pieces of continuous cursor shift codes and performing the cursor shifts of (n) times with just a signal process. CONSTITUTION:The contents of an input buffer 2 supplied through a keyboard 1 are analyzed by an input code analyzing part 3. The part 3 consists of a cursor shift code discriminating part 3a and an input buffer pre-reading control part 3b. The part 3b pre-reads the cursor shift codes if stored continuously from the next reading position of the buffer 2 and sends them to a cursor shift control part 5. At the same time, the part 3b sets the value of an input buffer reading position register 11 at the position the next cursor shift code. The part 5 replaces the value of a cursor position register 6 and changes the value of a segmentation start point register 7 of a text code by a scroll amount when a scroll action is desired. A display control part 4 can display the results of the cursor shift and the scroll action based on the values of registers 6 and 7.
