Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To cast a clad metallic ingot having a defectless adhesion boundary by floating a float on the molten base metal in a casting mold in proximity to a clad metal slab and releasing gas to isolate the scum suspended on the surface of the molten metal from the cladding metal slab. CONSTITUTION:A molten steel 3 is poured from below into the casting mold 2 into which the assembled slab 1 is vertically inserted. The float 4 which encloses the four long and short sides of the slab 1 in proximity thereto is floated on the surface of the molten steel 3. The float 4 rises along the slab 1 as the molten steel 3 rises. The scum 9 on the molten steel 3 is isolated from the four long and short sides of the slab 1 by the float 4 itself. The decomposed gas of the org. material is released from the outside and bottom surface of the float 4 and the molten steel 3 is cast while the scum 9 is more surely isolated in such a manner.
