Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve the disintegration resistance by mixing powder of a hydrogen occluding alloy with a heat transfer improver and a thermally decomposable substance, molding the mixture, covering the molded body with fibers of a metal having high heat conductivity, and scattering the thermally decomposable substance at a low temp. CONSTITUTION:Powder of a hydrogen occluding alloy is mixed with a powder or fibers of a heat transfer improver and a thermally decomposable substance, and the mixture is molded. The molded body is covered with fibers of a metal having high heat conductivity and press-molded. The metal having high heat conductivity is selected among Cu, Cu alloys, Al, Al alloys, Ni and Ni alloys. The amount of the metallic fibers is regulated to >=0.35vol% of the amount of the hydrogen occluding alloy. The thermally decomposable substance is then decomposed and scattered by heating at a low temp. A molded body having a porous structure contg. uniformly dispersed particles of the hydrogen occluding alloy and covered with the metallic fibers is obtd.
