Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To produce carbonyl sulfide at a relatively low temperature, by reacting an amine with sulfur and carbon monoxide in the presence of a selenium catalyst and thermally decomposing the produced thiocarbamic acid amine salt. CONSTITUTION:An amine is made to react with sulfur and carbon monoxide at about 0-150 deg.C in the presence of a metallic selenium catalyst to obtain a thiocarbamic acid amine salt. The amine is e.g. diethylamine, diisopropylamine, etc. The amine salt is decomposed by heating in a solvent such as anisole, at about 50-150 deg.C for about 0.5-24hr. Carbonyl sulfide can be produced by this process at a relatively low temperature.
