BASE MATERIAL FOR DECORATION

PURPOSE:To improve color tone and to facilitate its manufacture, to make color pitch fine, and to reduce the thickness of a base material by coloring electrode bodies in the same color at internals and applying a voltage to those electrode bodies. CONSTITUTION:A couple of transparent electrode groups 13 and 14 which face each other are vapor-deposited on internal surfaces of a couple of glass plate material 11 and 12, and liquid crystals 15 are charged between those electrode groups. Both electrode bodies 13n and 14n are arranged in parallel to each other and seen as if they overlapped each other in a plane. Beltlike films 17 are adhered on top surfaces of one group of electrode body 13n. The films 17 have section unit stripes 17n colored with, for example, a dichroic dye in primary colors R, G, and B regularly and periodically, and partition zones 18 are colored in BK. This color display generates the same color over the entire base material by applying a voltage to electrode bodies of the same color at intervals, and electrode bodies of other colors are applied with no voltage, so the colors are prevented from becoming turbid. Further, the color pitch is decreased and the manufacture is facilitated.
