PURPOSE:To make it possible to keep the secret of a card number by providing a display which is other than the card number when the card number is read and shows that the card number is in reading. CONSTITUTION:When a credit key 12 is depressed at a key input operating part 21, at the read out time of a card number, a card number read out signal Rb is supplied to an address signal forming circuit 25 through a key input discriminating circuit 24 and a prescribed read out address signal is supplied to a credit card number storing part 22b and a signal having a number of 14 figures is read out from a memory device 22. And this read out card number signal is supplied to a DTMF conversion circuit 27 and this card number is converted to DTMF signal. At this time, although the read out card number signal is supplied to a display control circuit 28, the card number is not displayed on a display 23 and a prepared display instead of the card number that shows the card number is being read is displayed. A secret is maintained hereby.
