GRINDING BASE MATERIAL FOR CLEANING

PURPOSE:To obtain a grinding base material for cleaning having an excellent efficiency with respect to removal of dirt and a high glazing effect and capable of being used without damaging the material to be cleaned, by incorporating, as a main component, a synthetic amorphous silicate to which a metal selected from among Zr, Ti and Ge is bonded. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic amorphous silicate in which a metal such as zirconium, titanium or germanium in the form of ZrO2, TiO2 or GeO2 is bonded to SiO2 is prepared, e.g. by reacting a mineral acid containing a zirconium salt, titanium salt or germanium salt (e.g. germanium chloride) with an alkali metal salt of silicic acid (e.g. sodium silicate). An intended grinding base material is prepared by incorporating the synthetic amorphous silicate as a main component. The grinding base material for cleaning is suitable for use as a base material for a kitchen detergent, a cleaner for furniture, a cleaner for automobiles and dentifrices.
