PLASTER COATING CARRIER FOR AGRICULTURAL CHEMICALS

PURPOSE:A plaster coating carrier for agricultural chemicals that is prepared by coating pumice of a specific particle size as a core with plaster, thus being suitable as a carrier with constant qualities for acricultural chemicals not only insoluble but also soluble in water. CONSTITUTION:A core component selected from pumice mainly consisting of silica of 16-48 mesh particle sizes, sand such as sea or mountain sand, and noncohesive clay such as pagodite clay or zeolite is mixed with 5-50wt% of water, then plaster is added and stirred in a pan-type granulator for about 30min to effect coating. The coated particles are dried to give the objective coating carrier of 0.5-5mm diameter. EFFECT:The plaster works as a binder instead of conventional binder, thus, the deterioration of decomposition of sensitive chemicals can be avoided. Moreover, plaster is partially converted in calcined plaster in drying process, thus keeping the moisture in the major chemical constant for a long period of time. Thus, the production process is simplified and the costs are reduced.
