Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve the adhesiveness of 'Sendust(R)' and glass and to obtain a highly reliable magnetic head by forming a Cr coated film, an SiO2 film or a heat resistant oxide film in this order on the track worked surface of the magnetic head using 'Sendust(R)' and then carrying out glass molding. CONSTITUTION:A track groove 2 is formed on a core block material 1 made of 'Sendust(R)' with a high coersive force. Then the Cr thin film 10 and the SiO2 thin film or the heat resistant oxide film 11 such as ZrO2 are formed in this order in the direction of a gap collating face 3 by sputter deposition. The heat resistance oxide film 11 is a stable oxide below 800 deg.C in terms of heat, and the films 10 and 11 are sputter-deposited under gases available from mixing Ar gas with O2 gas at the time of forming them. Then a molding glass bar is placed on a block, heated and melted below 800 deg.C and flowed into a groove 2. The glass 4 on the surface 3 is polished and removed to form a coil groove 5, after which front and back gap faces 6 and 7 are polished, a pair of core blocks are jointed to obtain a core bar 8. It is cut into each chip. Thus the adhesiveness of the molded glass and 'Sendust(R)' is improved and the magnetic head without a blow hole can be obtained.
