MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight of the device as a whole by forming two floppy disk devices by one spindle motor and one stepping motor. CONSTITUTION:First and second magnetic heads 32, 33 perform recording and reproducing the information for magnetic disks 1, 2 mounted to first and second spindles 22, 23, respectively. Head arms 36, 37 are energized elastically by a spring 42 towards the magnetic disk 2. When the magnetic disk 2 is in operation, the magnetic disk 2 is interposed between the magnetic head 32 and an upper magnetic head or head pad 38 or between the magnetic head 33 and the upper magnetic head 33 and the upper magnetic head or head pad 39 to make possible recording and reproducing the information. A stepping motor 43 for reciprocating linear movement is converted into-rotational movement by a steel belt 46 wound in a alpha-state to a pulley 45 fixed to the rotational shaft.
