Meanwhile the chamber 7 is adjacent to an exhaust port 9 through the intermediary of a partition wall 8, and is made into contact with cooling water in the jacket 1 through the intermediary of partition wall 10, 11. Further, the thermostat B is set such that it opens its valve when the temperature of cooling water is at its holding temperature during idle operation.
