IMAGE INPUT DEVICE

PURPOSE:To specify the readout range of an original repeatedly by providing an original readout range storage means which holds temporarily an original readout range sent from an external device by being specified with a command signal. CONSTITUTION:The readout range of the original is specified by inputting the command signal (a) from, for example, a host computer, etc. This command signal (a) is inputted to the microcomputer consisting of a CPU12, a ROM13, a RAM14, etc., through an I/O port 11. The computer stores the command signal in the RAM14 temporarily and the signal is processed or decoded in the CPU12 according to the program stored in the ROM13. A stepping motor control circuit 15, a stepping motor 1, and a 1-line buffer 16 are controlled with control signals inputted to outputted from the microcomputer through the I/O port 11 and the readout range is read continuously regardless of how many times the range is specified.
