ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To prevent a work roll from being flattened by reducing a rolling load and to reduce the generation of edge drop and the number of rolling passes by installing a non-driven small-diameter work roll capable of being offset in the rolling direction and a motor-driven large-diamentr work roll. CONSTITUTION:In case of performing rolling without offsetting a small-diameter work roll1, the roll 1 is placed just beneath a backup roll 3 and a large-diameter work roll 2 is driven by a motor 5. Further, the rolling is performed while providing a roll bending force to each work roll by a roll bending device not shown by the figure. Moreover, when the rolling is performed by offsetting the roll 1, the roll 1 is moved forward or backward, as shown by an alternate long and two short dashes line by rotating roll chocks.
