Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain the titled pitch of low viscosity with good thermal stability and spinnability without hydrogenation-treatment, etc., by removing the high- molecular weight component in tar pitch by solvent extraction followed by heat-treatment of the resultant pitch. CONSTITUTION:First, tar pitch is subjected to extraction-treatment with an aromatic solvent (e.g., tar-based middle oil) followed by separation-treatment such as filtration to eliminate solvent-insolubles.
