NOVEL IMMUNOACTIVATOR RT-1 AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To collect a novel immunoactivator by cultivating a bacterium Rhodococcus, and to use it as an antitumor agent or a preventive against infection with microorganisms. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium such as Rhodococcus terrae IFO70012, etc. belonging to the genus Rhodococcus, capable of production novel immunoactivator Rt-1, is cultivated. The cultivation is aerobically carried out in a medium containing a carbon source such as a carbohydrate, an alcohol, etc., a nitrogen source such as potassium nitrate, meat extract, etc., an inorganic salt, a vitamin, etc., and after the cultivation is over, Rt-1 is obtained from the mold. The culture mold is extracted with a solvent such as an ether, chloroform, etc., an extract is injected into chromatography to collect Rt-1 fraction. The prepared immunoactivator Rt-1 has low toxicity and excellent immunoactivating action.
