MANUFACTURE OF MAGNETIC HEAD DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent a head from shifting in position and a disk from floating over a lower head and to write and read the disk accurately and stably by positioning accurately and then fixing an upper head to the lower head. CONSTITUTION:Adjustments of the azimuth, etc., of the lower head 7 are completed when a carriage 1 is fitted and the magnetic head device in this state is incorporated in an adjusting jig to hold an arm 2 in an elevated state. Then, read/write gaps of upper and lower heads 13 and 7 are detected by using the jig to fix the head 13 to the head 7 across a both-sided adhesive tape 21 which is as thick as the disk while adjusting the position and azimuth of the head 13. Then, the arm 2 is lowered until the tip of a pivot part 12 abuts on the top surface of the head 13, and an adhesive 14 is flowed in between a part 12 and an outflow preventive wall 13a to fix the heads. Lastly, the arm 2 is elevated to remove the tape 21 and the head device is detached from the jig to complete the assembly.
