FORMATION OF IMAGE

PURPOSE:To obtain stable sharp images high in density for a long period by using particles small in diameter obtained by dispersing a fine magnetic powder into a binder made of a polyester resin as a carrier in developing a latent image with a binary developer. CONSTITUTION:The carrier having an average particle diameter of 10-50mum is prepared by preliminarily mixing a polyester resin contg. >=5wt% chloroform- insoluble fraction, a fine magnetic powder, such as ferrite, and other necessary additives, such as an electrostatic charge controller with a ball mill or the like, further, melting and kneading the mixture with a heating roller, then cooling, pulverizing, and classifying it, and the like method. A latent image formed on a latent image-bearing body is developed by preparing a binary developer with a combination of this carrier and a toner, forming its layer on the developer-carrying member, supplying this layer into a developing space undergoing the action of an oscillating electric field, thus permitting a toner image to be formed.
