Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To perform good and sure coiling of strip and to prevent flaws generation by providing the means to control the pressing state of a wrapper roll with detecting the stepped part which is formed on the tip part of the strip coiled on a mandrel. CONSTITUTION:A mandrel 1 and plural wrapper rolls 2 are approached and separated by a fluid pressure cylinder 7 via servo valve 8. The feeding speed of a strip S is detected by speed detector 11. The arithmetic unit 13 having received the signal from the tip part position detector 12 which detected the strip tip position transmits a jumping command to the wrapper roll 2 and controls with transmitting a signal to the wrapper roll to fit the strip S adequately after the jump. By performing the step difference avoiding control with this mechanism the coiling of the strip can be performed better and surely.
