Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of carburization and sulfurization in a casting by coating a mold coating material contg. an oxide consisting of iron oxide and manganese oxide to the part of a casting mold where a carburizable material and sulfurizable material are liable to be formed in casting of a molten metal then casting the molten metal into the mold. CONSTITUTION:The mold coating aterial contg. the oxide consisting of the iron oxide and manganese oxide is coated to the desired part of the casting mold having the tendency to form the carburizable material and sulfurizable material when the molten metal is cast therein, then the molten metal is cast into such mold in the stage of casting the molten metal by the self-curable org. casting mold made of an acid-curable org. binder consisting of a furan resin and sulfonic acid catalyst. Fe3O4 is used for the iron oxide and Mn2O3 or MnO2 is used for the manganese oxide and the compounding ratio thereof is made about 2:1. Such oxide mixture is incorporated at 20-60% into the mold coating material.
