Methods for the isolation of phosphatidylcholine from mixtures of vegetable lipids whereby the lipid mixture is dissolved in a solvent mixture consisting of 1 part by volume petroleum ether fraction (65-73 degrees C), 1 part by volume 2-propanol and 0.175 parts by volume water and the resulting solution is applied to a column filled with silica gel at a temperature of 20-50 degrees C and eluted with the same solvent mixture at this temperature and the main fraction consists of phosphatidylcholine freed from accompanying phosphatides. |
