Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To manufacture a regenerated wire rod having no surface defect by burning the covering material of a scrap covered electric wire of Cu or a Cu alloy by heating, removing the burning residue, melting the remaining wire and drawing it. CONSTITUTION:A scrap covered electric wire of Cu or a Cu alloy is heated to 300-700 deg.C in the air to burn the covering material, and the burning residue is perfectly removed by a mechanical means. After Ca in the burning residue is perfectly removed from the surface of the wire, the remaining wire is remelted and drawn. A regenerated wire rod can be manufactured without flawing the surface due to Ca.
