CALCULATING DEVICE OF ARITHMETIC RESULT LIMIT

PURPOSE:To make the decision of calculation accuracy convenient by informing a programmer when the intermediate result of numeric calculation by electronic computer shows that the absolute value of a numeric is extremely large of small. CONSTITUTION:A calculating condition detector is formed with a calculation result register 4, a constant register 5, a comparator circuit 6 for comparing a subject by bit and OR circuits 7-9, and outputs a calculating result signal 10. The constant register 5 is provided with an effective address holding register, a bit string generating register, etc., and the length of the register 5 is the same as that of floating point data. The titled device inspects contents of the calculation result register 4 where the calculated result is stored, informs that its value becomes extremely large or small, detects whether the bit string of length given at the left side of the exponential part is of all '0' or '1', and calculates an output 10.
