REDUCTION GEAR FOR SHEET MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To decelerate a sheet being fed at high speed to be specified speed surely without taking a large space on a line, by using a pinch roll device for the end. CONSTITUTION:The tip end o a preceding sheet 20 passes through a space between upper and lower pinch rolls 1 and 2 at velocity V1, and when the tail end is detected by a detector 21, the lower pinch roll 2 goes up to a position of a top dead center 2; by operation of a cylinder 26. And, the tail end of the sheet 20 is pinched by these upper and lower pinch rolls 1 and 2'. With this constitution, the sheet 20 is decelerated to pinch roll's peripheral velocity V2 whereby it is discharged out on a piler, colliding with a stopper 5 at piling velocity V2, thus piling takes place. Therefore, a deceleration starting point of time in the sheet is accurate enough, and after being pinched by these pinch rolls, till a feed rate of the sheet is determined by the peripheral velocity of these pinch rolls, even the sheet velocity on a feed line is high speed, it is decelerable to the desired velocity with certainty.
