Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:A rubber composition improved in water resistance and flame retardancy and low in the amount of hydrogen chloride gas formed during burning, prepared by adding a softener, an antioxidant and a vulcanizing agent to a mixture of chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber, lead oxide, carbon black, silicon coupling agent-treated calcium carbonate and antimony trioxide. CONSTITUTION:A softener, an antioxidant and a vulcanizing agent are added in suitable amounts to a base comprising 100pts.wt. chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber, 20-70pts.wt. lead oxide, 15-50pts.wt. carbon black, 10-50pts.wt. silane coupling agent-treated calcium carbonate and 20-50pts.wt. antimony trioxide. The carbon black used should be one which can give a reinforcing effect to the rubber composition, has an effect of imparting flame retardancy and water resistance and has an average particle diameter of 22-60 and a surface area (as determined by nitrogen adsorption) of 40-170m /g.
