METHOD OF REPAIRING PIPE

PURPOSE:To positively achieve the sealing against fluid when there is a damage to a part of pipe which is inserted into and tightly contacting the inner surface of a hole in a pipe plate by removing a segment of the pipe which is located outside the damaged part and inserting a new pipe thereto and connecting the ends of the old and new pipes. CONSTITUTION:A heat transmission pipe 3 outside a damaged part 4 is removed, and then a new heat transmission pipe 6 is inserted thereto and the surrounding of the joint 8 of the heat transmission pipe 6 is brought to tightly contact a hole in a pipe plate 2. In this instance, when the new heat transmission pipe 6 is inserted, the end of the heat transmission pipe 6 is covered with a soft metal 9 such as gold. By making use of the elongation of the heat transmission pipe 6 in the axial direction when the new heat transmission pipe which has been inserted is expanded by a roller pipe expander 7, the new heat transmission pipe 6 is connected to the the old heat transmission pipe 3 by pressure welding through said metal 9. In this manner, owing to the soft metal 9 at the joint of the pipes 3 and 6, the heat transmission pipes 3, 6 are positively connected in a fluid-tight manner.
