ELECTRICITY CONDUCTING ROLL FOR ELECTROPLATING

PURPOSE:To prevent the sticking of a plating metal to an electricity conducting roll of an electroplating device which uses an acidic plating liquid and to improve the quality of plating by dropping an dilute liquid of a plating liquid compsn. via a dropping pipe onto the surface of the electricity conducting roll. CONSTITUTION:The dropping pipe 11 is provided above the electricity conducting roll 2 of an electroplating device using the acidic plating liquid in proximity thereto over the longitudinal direction thereof. The acid dilute liquid of the above-mentioned plating liquid compsn. to be supplied via a conduit 12 by a pump 12 is dropped from the pipe 11 onto the surface of the roll 2 under the conduction of electrolytic current in order to subject a traveling steel strip 7 to electroplating. The concn. of the acid of the above-mentioned acid dilute liquid is properly determined by the material quality, etc. of the roll 2 and the dropping rate is set below the rate conforming to H2 to be consumed by electrolysis and below the evaporation rate of the plating liquid. The defectless plated steel strip having excellent quality is thus obtd. at a low running cost with a simple installation without decreasing plating efficiency.
