TAPE RECORDER

PURPOSE:To obtain a reverse recording and reproducing function with simple constitution by changing rotating directions of a couple of capstans and a pinch roller and changing running directions of a tape. CONSTITUTION:A figures shows a reverse playback state wherein a head substrate 13 moves forth while a reel 8 serves as a take-up reel and a reel 4 serves as a payoff reel. At this time, the pad in a tape cassette is pressed in to a pad shifter 12, a magnetic head 12 is separated from the pad, and only the tape 17 abuts on the magnetic head 12. The run position of the tape 17 is controlled by a tape guide 14a provided to a pinch roller arm 14b in one body and the capstans 1 and pinch roller 2 are driven right before the guide to send out the tape. When the playback state is switched to the forward direction, the capstan 1a and pinch roller 2a are reversed and the reel 4 is used as the take-up side to easily obtain the same constitution as before.
