Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To make it possible to simplify the circuit arrangement of a knocking control device, by calculating the level of noise in accordance with the width of noise pulses in noise gate sections, and by obtaining the width of noise pulse. CONSTITUTION:A noise pulse width calculating means 30 calculates the width of pulses delivered from a comparator 23 in noise gate sections from a noise gate signal generating means 23 when the output of a band pass filter 22 is greater than the level of noise from a D-A converter 24. Further, a noise level calculating means 31 calculates the noise level in accordance with the pulse width, and delivers the same to the D-A converter 24. In accordance with the this noise level a means 29 obtains a knocking judging level, and the comparator 23 delivers pulses when the output of the filter 22 is greater than the output of the D-A converter 24. Therefore, a knocking judging means 28 judges the presence of knocking in accordance with the number of the output pulses.
