DESTATICIZING METHOD OF ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC PROCESS

PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of an afterimage and to hold color balance invariably uniform by discharging an image carrier electrostatically to a large destaticizing quantity only at the end of an electrophotographic process. CONSTITUTION:A destaticizing lamp 11 is set to the 1st relatively low destaticizing quantity, e.g. 20muJ/cm in a color copy process. When before- transfer destaticization is carried out to the 1st destaticizing quantity, the efficiency of transfer of a visual image to transfer paper is maintained excellently. When the color copy process is repeated by as many times the desired, the destaticizing quantity of the discharging lamp 11 is increased to the 2nd destaticizing quantity larger than the 1st discharging quantity, e.g. 60muJ/cm , thereby discharging a photosensitive body 3. Thus, destaticization is carried out to the large destaticizing quantity at the end of a normal copy process to prevent a previous image from appearing as an afterimage when a copy process is performed for a new original image.
