PATTERN PRINTER

PURPOSE:To permit high-speed printing of patterns by a method in which controllers for scan data buffer, line-feed indicator, and movable head are each operated, and the movable head is allowed to do scanning action in the section corresponding to the printing region of pattern. CONSTITUTION:A controller to control the scanning action of a movable head H is provided, which consists of a counter 11, J-KFF12, two registers Re1 and Re2 to set up the scanning region of the movable head H, and a line-feed number setting circuit A to set up the line feeding number of the movable head H. Signals T1 and T2 from the registers Re1 and Re2 are sent to the controller of the head H, where the scanning region of the head H is set up by the signals T1 and T2. From the line-feed indicator, the content of the line-feed information memory is sent to the controller where optimal moving direction from the present position of the head H is judged by the signals T1 and T2. The head H is line-fed by as much as a line feed information, and scanning action is made in the range of scanning region. The wasteful scanning action of the movable head H can thus be omitted, and high-speed pattern printing is made possible.
