Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain an aqueous coating material having improved adhesive properties, wet adhesive properties to articles to be coated, water resistance and durability, by incorporating a pigment paste consisting of a specific drying oilmodified alkyd resin as a vehicle with a synthetic resin emulsion. CONSTITUTION:A compound having alkylene oxide chains expressed by the formula (R is H of methyl; n is an integer 3-300) and hydroxyl groups in the molecule is incorporated with 0.1-20wt%, based on the resin, residues consisting of a compound having hydroxyl groups in the molecule to give an oil-modified alkyd resin. 10-150pts.wt. resultant oil-modified alkyd resin is then kneaded with a pigment to afford a pigment paste, which is then incorporated with 100pts.wt. (solid) vinyl based polymeric emulsion to give the aimed coating material.
