MATERIAL POSITIONING DEVICE FOR CUTTER

PURPOSE:To make it possible to rapidly and accurately cut a material with the use of a device comprising a means for urging the material against a positioning stopper disposed at a cutting position, and a means for securing the material, by providing a magnet to the above-mentioned stopper in the part against which the material abuts. CONSTITUTION:A material positioning device for cutters, is composed of a positioning stopper 6 laid at a cutting position, an urging means 2 arranged at a position where the urging means opposes the positioning 6 and a chuck 3 as a securing means disposed between the former two. Further the positioning means 6 is provided, in a part against which a material to be cut abuts, with an electromagnet 6a having a circular cross-sectioned shape. Further, the positioning stopper 6 is secured to a bed 7 which is supported by support rods 8 so that the bed 7 is movable back and forth. Upon using the bed 7 and the support rods 8 are at first moved back and forth to adjust the distance between the positioning stopper 6 and a cutting means 4 in accordance with the cutting length of the material 5. Then, after the material 5 is attracted to the electromagnet 6a by the urging means 2 which presses the material 5, the latter is cut by the cutting means 4.
