Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To operate continuously with simple apparatus and method by subjecting the stripping gas of process waste water to a deammoniation and an adsorption treatment, and then recovering sulfur at a sulfur recovery apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The process waste water obtained from an aromatics manufacturing plant 1 is supplied into a waste water stripper 3 through a line 2. Hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, etc. are contained in the waste water. The treated waste water which is stripped at the stripper 3 is discharged from a line 4. The stripping gas is sent through a line 5 into an ammonia absorber 6 wherein ammonia is removed, and discharged from a line 27. The gas removed from ammonia is sent into an adsorber 8 from a line 7, and adsorbed. The gas is then sent into a sulfur recovery apparatus through a line 10. The adsorbed recovered oil is discharged from a line 9. The Claus reactor furnace 11 is used as the sulfur recovery apparatus.
