METHOD FOR SEPARATING GAS

PURPOSE:Separation of gas is carried out using polyphosphazene prepd. by substituting chlorine atoms of dichloro phosphorus nitride polymer with a phenoxy compd., alkoxy compd., or amine. CONSTITUTION:Suitable phenoxy compds., alkoxy compds. or amines useful for the substitution of chlorine atoms in dichloro phosphorus nitride polymer are (1) phenols which may have substituents (e.g. halogen atoms), (2) alcohols which may have substituents (e.g. halogen atoms), (3) primary or secondary amines (cyclic or acyclic alkylamine, aromatic amine, heterocyclic amine having N atom as a member of the ring). Polyphosphazene obtd. by introducing several substituents is dissolved appropriately in a solvent and coated on a glass plate and dried. Thin film of polyphosphazene is thus prepd.
