Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce a charged latent image of dot form to obtain an image record of high resolution by dissipating the electric charge of a charged latent image through action of an electrode element charged in opposite polarity to a charged latent image on an electrostatic recording paper bearing a latent image formed in an electric charge. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic recording paper 1 in roll is fed by a paper feeder roll 4 in an arrow direction, passing through a platen 3 and a recording head 2. At that time, a charged latent image is formed, through electric discharge, on the surface of an inductive element layer of an electrostatic recording paper 1. The electrostatic recording paper 1 bearing a charged latent image passes between an earthed electrode 5 and a reduced electrode 6. Both earthed electrode 5 and reduced electrode 6 have a width equal to that of the electrostatic recording paper 1. The reduced electrode 6 receives an electric potential having a polarity opposed to a charged latent image from a reduced power supply 7. As a result, part of the electric charge is neutralized and eliminated and a charged latent image on the electrostatic recording paper 1 passing between the earthed electrode 5 and the reduced electrode 6 is reduced like S2.
