MANUFACTURE OF DRY CELL

PURPOSE:To obtain dry cells of a constant discharge performance by checking amounts of mixture powder packed in zinc cans by determining them by detecting the heights of carbon-bar-supporting bodies in inserting carbon bars into the zinc cans. CONSTITUTION:The side surface of a zinc can 1 is covered by a separator 3. Next, after a positive mixture 4 is packed into the zinc can 1, a collar paper 5 is placed on the positive mixture 4. Next, after the attachment area 8 of a carbon-bar-supporting body 7 is brought into contact with the collar paper 5, homogeneous pressure is applied. Next, after a carbon bar 9 is inserted into a proper position in the mixture 4 by means of a punch rod 12, the height of the mixture 4 is read up to the height of a guide tube 11 by means of a parallel-beam- irradiating part 16, a light-receiving camera 17 and the like. After that, the read height is calculated into a weight thereby determining whether a given amount of the mixture 4 is packed or not. By the means mentioned above, a molded body of the powder of the mixture 4 having a given weight is obtained. Zinc cans packed with an insufficient or excessive amount of the mixture 4 are exhausted outside the assembly line. As a result, dry cells of a constant performance can be obtained.
