Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To make a specified-form phosphor screen producible in an accurate manner, by applying a light absorber onto a phosphor being coated and dried up on a front panel inner surface of a cathode-ray tube and making up a shadow mask, then removing the phosphor of the mask part by means of exposure and development. CONSTITUTION:Phosphor slurry, made up of dispersing a phosphor over ultraviolet hard type resin serving as a binder, is applied almost overall to the inner surface of a front panel 1 formed by pellucid materials including glass or the like and naturally dried up, thus a phosphor coating film 2 is formed. Next, a light absorber such as organic and inorganic dyes, etc., is applied onto a useless portion of inner screen surrounding parts of the coating film 2, and a shade mast 3 is formed. In succession, using a light source 4 including a superhigh pressure mercury lamp or the like, irradiation of ultraviolet rays takes place, then this phosphor coating film 2 is exposed to light and developed whereby an unexposed part in the film 2 covering the mask 3 is removed, and the exposed part of the film 2 alone is left behind on the panel innder surface, thus a specified-form phosphor screen 5 is made up.
