MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To stabilize a reproducing function moreover by controlling the travelling speed of a magnetic recording medium and the signal processing speed of a signal processing system in accordance with detected sampling frequency information until the number of errors of the sampling frequency exceeds a prescribed number of times. CONSTITUTION:Error detection outputs from an error correcting circuit 112 are supplied to an OR circuit 115-19 and a flip-flop 115-20 and counted by a counter 115-21, and if the error detection outputs are detected M times, the output of the counter 115-21 is supplied to a control circuit 116 and automatic reproducing is stopped. When no error is detected, the travelling speed of the magnetic tape is controlled at a speed corresponding to the sampling frequency until the error detection outputs reach M times. Since the travelling speed of the magnetic tape is controlled in accordance with the sampling frequency information until the number of errors of the detected sampling frequency information exceeds the prescribed times, the sampling frequency information can be surely detected and the reproducing function is stabilized.
